A few weeks ago I was a guest at McQueens Flower School 20th Anniversary party/workshop in Bethnal Green. McQueens is a well-established brand not only selling beautiful flowers but also decorating London venues with gorgeous designs.
I remember a few years ago I was thinking about becoming a florist but I did nothing and gave up on that idea. I love flowers (who doesn’t?) so I was thrilled to be invited to McQueens event.
We were about 15 people in a group and that was a perfect size for a workshop. I have never made a bouquet myself and was very unsure if I could produce anything that looks like a decent flower composition. The technique they thought us called a spiral method and it was actually quite easy to do. How it works is you take one flower at a time and keep it in your left hand. Then you start adding flowers with their stems pointing in one direction.
I picked quite a lot of different flowers and I ended up with a massive bouquet which I brought home with me. Many thanks to McQueens Flower School for such an amazing experience!
