Spring is undoubtedly the most beautiful season in London. It starts with the first blooming tree – at the beginning of Portobello Road, followed by beautiful magnolia, cherry and wisteria blooms. At this time Instagram is going crazy, everyone is getting excited about checking their favourite photo spots. The best place to go is of course Notting Hill. Get off at Notting Hill Gate station and start Magnolia hunting at Kensington Pl. In my London Photo Guide, I included a few more places to Instagram in that area, check it out.
A while ago I blogged about Why I love Instagram Without Taking Endless Selfies, and now I can add one more reason for that – meeting like-minded and really interesting people. My contract at previous job finished just on time for Magnolia blooming season and I had a lot of time to explore miles of streets for beautiful photos. One day Margarita Karenko, a London-based portrait and lifestyle photographer, contacted me with an irresistible offer to go for a photo shoot with Magnolias. I usually don’t like posing for photos, because I feel super awkward and simply don’t know what to do … but I really like beautiful photos of myself hehe.
It turned out to be a lot of fun and I can’t thank Margarita enough for helping me to overcome this feeling of being uncomfortable at the front of the camera.
