5 of My Favourite Online Classes on iPhone Photography

One of my favourite online platforms to learn new skills is Skillshare. I’ve been a member of this community for almost 2 years now and from time to time I binge watching creative and business related classes. My favourite courses are of course about photography. What I like the most is that they are quite short and gem packed with really useful information. You can get 2 months of Skillshare Premium for free using my link to sign up.

Below are 5 of my favourite classes which I highly recommend if you want to learn how to take better photos, find inspiration and get some ideas for your Instagram or blog photography.

1. Lifestyle Photography: Everyday Storytelling in Photo & Print

Lifestyle Photography Everyday Storytelling in Photo and Print

Dan Rubin is a lifestyle & travel photographer, one of Instagram’s earliest beta testers and a speaker at the world’s first mobile photography conference, 1197. He shares his tips on how to plan shooting a story when meeting with a friend or family without being annoying or disturbing. If you like this class, check out his another one – Learn Mobile Photo Editing: Apps for Beauty and Efficiency. It was him who introduced me to my now favourite editing apps SKRWT and Touch Retouch.

2. Mobile Photography: Creating Consistent Look and Feel

Joe Greer Ok But First Coffee

Joe Greer is my recent Instagram crush, I’m in love with his photography style and this is something to strive for.  He is a freelance photographer and he specialises in landscape, portraiture, lifestyle, and adventure photography. In this class, Joe teaches how to achieve a cohesive look of your photos, which is something a lot of people are curious about. He used to work for VSCO so he knows this stuff very well 😉

3. Lifestyle Photography: Capturing Inspiring Visual Stories

Marte Marie Forsberg - Food and Lifestyle photographer Ok But First Coffee Blog

Marte Marie Forsberg is a self-taught food and lifestyle photographer from Norway. After having lived in many beautiful and exciting places around the world during her studies in fashion design and art history, she found her tool: the camera. I once met her at the conference for bloggers in London and I can honestly say that she is an amazing and inspiring woman. Her class is more about how to create a visual story, what to look for and how to create moody photographs.

4. Mobile Photography Basics for Instagram Success

Mobile Photography Basics for Instagram Success Tyson Wheatley

Tyson Wheatley is a producer, strategist and photographer with a decade of experience working in social media and journalism with an extensive knowledge of Asia/Pacific. He worked for CNN and Instagram. In this class, Tyson talks about accessories for an iPhone photography and using captions as a powerful tool for storytelling.

5. iPhone Food Photography: Capturing Coffee, Dessert, and More

Today, the site especially focuses on the cuisines of Paris, Tokyo, Mexico City, and New York. If you want to learn how to take a perfect coffee or food shot and how to do in a cafe with dark light, this class is for you.
